Esperanza:

Now introducing Isaac Russell:

Live at Knitting Factory in Boise, Idaho

I love this song and was lucky enough to hear it performed live last night!  It was an intimate setting and almost everyone talked through the set, but my heart was melting.  After a painfully funny introduction he sang a song about his ex-girlfriend cheating on him with his best friend.  It was actually pretty funny despite the obvious pain he had to have felt to write such lyrics.  Russell was quite the opening act for Jakob and The Three Legs.

I was really excited that this song was performed!  In the video Jakob mentions desiring the sound of a band and The Three Legs definitely delivered.  If I hadn't discovered Jakob was already wed to a woman named Paige I wouldn't have been able to give my heart to the women vocals.  They were the perfect fit for this album.  While sipping on beer and dancing, they managed to joke and smile the whole time!  Supreme multitasking skills in my book.

As per usual I was able to pick a few songs that I wanted to be performed and I won with "Evil is Alive and Well"!!

The best part of "Evil" was the lighting.  Green is an evil color and my favorite.

<3 THE HAT! My guess is that he can't wear Ray Bans and follow that closely in his father's footsteps, so he sports the hat for privacy.  Either way, I loved the hat!

I should have a comic written about me entitled, "The Adventures of the Eavesdropper".   A few overheard conversations entertained me throughout the evening.   At one point I heard a man explain how country Dylan sounded.  I overstepped my bounds and reminded him the name of the album, Women and Country...it went over his head.  I managed to get into a heated discussion with another man about the difference between a theory and a fact via evolution.

I had a rather enjoyable evening, but wish I had gotten the Dylan poster sporting the release date for Woman and Country that shares my birthday.  If you have the opportunity to listen to Isaac Russell or Jakob Dylan please do so!
(Hint, hint: I want it, someone find it and get one for me?!)
